All week I have been hearing Helen Reddy’s song, “I am Woman” in my head. I am ready to roar!
I have been open and vocal most of my adult life and not afraid to stand up for what is right and just against weak people who didn’t want their lies exposed or their crimes revealed. Even 30 years ago, When I owned a small newspaper in SW Michigan, journalists were attacked for the corruption they exposed. When threatened I told them to bring it on, I had truth in my corner. Was I afraid, yes. Did I let them know it – Not on your life! You stand up to bullies and they will back down.
That is not the norm today. Truth has been twisted, there is now “alternative truth”, whatever that means, and even live video evidence can’t be trusted. Journalists are fired for telling the truth. Thankfully there are independent outlets like Substack to keep the public informed.
Adam was a weakling
Women have been roaring since ADAM took the first bite of that damn apple, and then blamed Eve for making him do it. Adam was a weak man, and because of his weakness we all were doomed to a life of hardship. I often wondered were men got into their heads they were superior. Even the Bible says Eve was created to walk ALONGSIDE Adam, not behind him. FYI White Nationals, MATRIARCHS have been the silent rulers in the home all along, all the while allowing the man to think he was.
"History is written by the strong” - George Samuel Clason. It is written by women who refused to be silenced, who knocked down barriers and cleared a path for others to follow. They were determined because they knew their fight was just. They went from kitchens to the streets – mothers to activists. Women, for the most part, are survivors, carrying the world forward either through their own activities or through their children. As the saying goes, “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.”
Now, more than ever before in our nation that power is needed. The world is watching, and waiting, and it will be the strong women who answer that call.
Weak men have always been afraid of strong women, and they seize every opportunity to try to keep them in check. They show favoritism toward good-looking women while often relying on other women to do the job right, often taking credit for their work for themselves. Promotions go to the men must more often than to the women who actually do the job. That glass ceiling still hasn’t been cracked yet, but there have been many exceptional women who have tried.
This is not to say all men are weak, I know and respect many men who do not fit under this umbrella. Those are the ones who see women as equal, and unite and fighting alongside them as an advantage, not a problem. Women don’t emasculate the man, they work with them. They both understand this union makes a stronger front, and working together gets them further.
The time where women walked two steps behind their man, who waits on him hand and foot and clings to his every word has long passed. The times when we want to be JUST housewives has passed. We want to be, and can be, good parents and spouses and still have a fulfilling career. With a spouse who works with them as a PARTNER they can both shine.
Protecting women does not mean keeping them barefoot and pregnant.
The major turning point for women in America was World War II. Women were represented by the “Rosie the Riveter” image. They had to go to work because THEY were the breadwinners and had no choice but to get out of the house and work while the husband was at serving our country.
Something happened, they saw they were stronger than they thought, and capable of doing more. When the men came home from war they found a different woman, a stronger woman, one who could handle a house and a job. One who had a brain and really wanted to use it.
I am STRONG, I am INVINCIBLE - and there’s NO TURNING BACK!
Some men couldn’t handle that. They wanted their women to be the same as when they left. They suffered emotionally, if not physically, from their experiences in the war and wanted their wife to be more like their mother. They found that wasn’t the case. Women suffered too, in different ways. War changes everybody.
Men may be physically stronger than women, but mentally we have shown time and again we can compete. The contributions women made in history, in all fields, is extraordinary. Just a few examples: Eleanor Roosevelt, Queen Elizabeth II, Cleopatra, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Susan B. Anthony, Amelia Earhart, Malala Yousafzai and Marie Curie. Their contributions and accomplishments encompassed every phase of society - politics, world leaders, aeronautics and sciences, medicine and writing/journalism.
Women have shaped history through courage, intelligence, and the determination to challenge the status quo.
The Power of Collective Action
Women standing together have led movements for equality, environmental change, and peace.
This courageous soldier in Dallas took a great risk by joining the protest against ICE, and calling on her fellow soldiers to “resist evil”.
Melanie Stansberry, Congresswoman from New Mexico confronts the Congress on their version of the rule of law and doesn’t mince any words; Congresswoman Jasmine Crocket of Texas speaks to Congress, who turn a blinds eye to the illegalities of what is happening in the country. Her fiery demeanor emitted this retort: “Following the Constitution is not OPTION”. And we have the bold and vocal Congresswoman from New York, AOC, who when speaking to the Governors from New York and Illinois during a Congressional hearing pointed out the difference between Legal vs Illegal Immigration and how freedoms are being taken away from us all.
These are just three outstanding women who currently are standing up to cowards in office, and won’t back down when confronting the evil and cruel injustices that are taking place in the false narrative of making our country safer.
It is up to ALL OF US to show up, to back up those who aren’t afraid to fight for our rights, and who won’t back down.
TOMORROW IS NO KING’S DAY!
Charge your phones, keep the peace, walk away when antagonized, and stop others from getting carried away. These protests have to be totally peaceful, and we know there will be some who will try to cause trouble. Don’t let them!
BE SAFE! We are strong when we are united.

Very well spoken. We are women and weather we choose to have a career, be a housewife, or a combination of both we need to stand together and support each other’s choices. I agree that this should not be an anti-male movement because the world is a better place if we all work together.
I used to listen to that song every single day! looking forward to my peaceful participation in No King's Day tomorrow. hats off to everyone who is showing up and thank you to those who can't show up but are standing by and sending positive thoughts to keep everyone safe. We are strong!
